Accommodated exams with testing services

Important Information

History Tab - Located in the top right of your professor account.

  • In this tab you can view the following for each student:
    1. date, time and exam registered for
    2. status (i.e. Checked in, Testing, Checked out, No Show)
    3. info (i.e. start/end time)

Time Restriction – located in the details portion of the submission builder

Easiest Option – Leave blank and monitor students’ registrations via the confirmation emails sent after students' book and/or your History Tab on your professor account.

More complicated option – If time restriction required – Input start time to be the earliest time that a student can book, and the end time must include 2x extra time of the allotted minutes.

  • For example – Allotted minutes of 120 minutes - start time of 9:00 am would reflect as 9:00 am in start time and 1:00 pm end time (this will allow for both 1.5x and 2x accommodated students to be able to book) Please note: 1.5x students would see more options to book.

Please note: After a submission is approved, you cannot make changes to the date, time or allotted minutes. You must reach out to accessibility.testing@sait.ca to inform us of the change required for a specific submission and we will make this change.

Exam file(s) drop box can be used to drop exams and any other paperwork the student needs to write an exam (i.e formula sheet, instructor approved reference sheet, etc.). This must be put into RegisterBlast at least 48 business hours before the exam as Testing staff requires time to process.

PLEASE NOTE: If the exam file is changed within 48 hours of exam start time, please write in the Exam Instructions at the bottom of the submission “Exam file updated on DATEbefore you press submit. This way, we are aware of this change, as the instructor edits email do not notify of this particular change.

LanSchool is a classroom management software that we use in our centre to monitor and control the computers in both the labs and private rooms (excluding student laptops).

With this software, staff can perform the following actions:

  • restrict access to other websites
  • grant access to certain websites while restricting access to all other websites
  • capture students keystrokes and browsing history
  • control computers from the main staff computer located at the main desk
    • this is used mainly to input secure passwords or communicate with the student without having to enter the room multiple times (which can create distractions to students writing exams)

Please email your student who is booking the exam the following information (be sure to change the bolded black verbiage to be that of the exam they are booking for);

The Johnson Cobbe Testing Centre has informed me that you can now book your sitting for TEST123 – Computer – Exam 1 on RegisterBlast.

  • Here is the booking link: Johnson Cobbe RegisterBlast Link
  • Instructions can be found at the following link: Student Booking Instructions

  • When you are asked to "Select School", please select INPUT RESPECTIVE SCHOOL (otherwise, you won't see my name when you get to "Select Instructor").
    •   Your test has been scheduled for DATE at TIME.

Please book your sitting as soon as you get this email, as the Johnson Cobbe Testing Centre will not be able to accommodate us if their timeline is not followed.  If you run into any difficulty during the booking process, please don't hesitate to reach out to me and/or accessibility.testing@sait.ca

Please understand that the staff are inputting these passwords for exams. Students do not have access to the passwords you provide in your RegisterBlast submissions.

We ask that you provide simple enough passwords that don’t require meticulous entry. For example; rC2@<W3cNVB8dp!gbSj]:{ is not an ideal password. These types of passwords cause staff much grief, especially during busy times because we don’t know if the password provided is incorrect or if we are inputting incorrectly because of its complexity.
