COVID-19 Library Service Information: Digitization Requests

In response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, the Reg Erhardt Library is currently offering a small-scale, on-demand digitization service for faculty, staff and students requiring access to the Library's physical collection to support remote classes and teaching. If you are unable to find a suitable alternative in the Library's electronic collection, the Library may be able to digitize a limited amount of material from the physical collection for personal educational or academic use only. 

All requests are subject to copyright pursuant to the Canadian Copyright Act and SAIT's Copyright of External Materials policy and procedure. Eligible scanning requests will typically be limited to one chapter per book or one article per journal volume. 

Before you request, remember:

• The Library has large, existing collections of electronic books, journals and databases. Check to see if there is already an electronic version of the resource or if a suitable alternative is available. 
• The Library may be able to purchase an electronic copy for the permanent collection. Contact your School's liaison librarian for assistance with the purchase of electronic books (where available).
• The Library maintains a resource page with information of openly licensed teaching materials, such as Open Educational Resources (OERs).
• Reach out to your librarian for help with locating relevant resources for your classes.

Turnaround time for your request is affected by the volume of requests we receive. Digitization requests are only processed Mondays to Thursdays. Eligible documents will be delivered in PDF format to the email address specified in the request form.
