COVID-19 Library Service Update Overview

With the health and safety of our students and employees top of mind, SAIT is following the Government of Alberta’s guidance specific to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please refer to the frequently asked questions at for the most up-to-date information about your studies, and for the latest details on SAIT's pandemic preparedness measures.


Is the Library open? What are your current hours?

Starting Monday, March 23rd the Library will be closed indefinitely. There will be no access to computers, staff or other resources at our physical location.

You can reach us by email and online chat during posted hours.


Are staff available to assist me at the information desk?

The Library Information Desk is not open. For general inquiries and basic assistance with research and citations, send us an email or use our online chat service.

For in-depth research and citation assistance, book a video, voice, or chat appointment with the liaison librarian for your school.


Can I still borrow books (or course textbooks, course reserves, DVDs, laptops, media items, etc.)? 

No, we are not lending any physical items until further notice.

You can check the SAIT Bookstore to see if your course has an e-textbook for purchase.


Can I access library resources online? How do I do this?

If you are a current student or staff member, many of our resources such as books, journal articles, videos, and our subject guides are available online. You may be asked to log in to access some resources.

If you experience problems with your login, please contact us. You can also still request e-resources through interlibrary loan.


Are math and writing tutors still available?

Information on tutoring is available on the Academic Coaching and Tutoring page. SAIT also has partnered with an online tutoring service. Visit Tuber Education for more information.
